New Sporter/Snipers

Postby Even11 » Wed Feb 06, 2013 11:29 am

I stumbled across this link on another forum, they have a nice looking Rifle, I can't read a word of it, maybe Iridium can help us out on what they are selling. Looks like a laminated 91/30 sniper that has some refinishing and or polishing done. I can't tell if they are selling them as a sporter or whats going on, lots of pictures and cyrillic though. lol

Google is fun to use... My wife use it often when stumble over some difficult passage in English it always ends-up with a need of my help & we have lots of laughter together...

Here is about this web site. It belongs to Uriy Maximov; it is not affiliated with any retailer nor manufacturer...
First thing I've noticed that he doesn't see a difference between 7.62x39 & 7.72x54r......
Here is an original in Russian:
"... В России это – 7,62х39 и родной, русский трёхлинейный патрон (именно так он именовался изначально, ибо 7,62х54R – это «их», буржуйское именование нашего патрона)...."
& Here is literal translation (I'm just translating his phrase, to show his ignorance, so no offence plz...) - "In Russia it is - 7.62x39 - native, Russian 3 lines cartridge (this is exactly how it called in the beginning, because 7.62x54R - is "Their", bourgeois name of our cartridge)..."

Next.
He purchased this KO91/30M directly from Вятко - Полянский "Молот" - Vyatko-Polyansky "Molot" for 10000 Rub (about $333)
Index "M" at the end of rifle model stands for new Chrome lined hammer forged barrel.

He defends the rimmed cartridge (but called it Flange & insist that Rimmed - is wrong to say... "Flange", not "Rimmed" 8-) )as well as all the rest of the rifle.
Length of the rifle is 1115mm; Barrel length is 610mm (24"); thickness of the barrel at the muzzle is 18mm (this is very good!) He doesn't favor the thickness it too much since he call it HUMONGOUS & HEAVY in a sense that it is TOO MUCH...
Then he said that entire rifle is black oxidized them Chromium - plated... & he regrets about it... (Sorry, I'm just a translator...) here is original passage... - "Все детали оружия отполированы и оксидированы под «чёрный хром», затвор хромирован (зря, кстати)".

Ok... here is more...
He modified a stock at the butt stock area (Made it thinner). then he refinished entire stock with a stain & treated it with Bee wax. the rifle is zeroed at 100 meters while zeroing he went from 7-8sm - 3" to a group 15-25mm - this about 1" - pretty good (using iron sights...)

Very nice unit... I like it.
