Rumor

Postby Marauder 1 » Mon Aug 04, 2014 10:32 am

OK I'm trying to get some verification on this but here is what I've heard. According to the Manager at my local Big 5 that are no longer going to carry Mosin Nagant rifles. According to this source he stated that the cost to purchase them has gone up considerably and they simply don't want to price them that high. If you guys happen to be around your local Big 5 could you see if this is just a local issue here in CA or if it's nation wide.

Thanks
Mark

Not to move rumors but to seek clarity.. I do know that last week were reports that new round of sanctions were coming down on Russian stuff and at the time I could not find the details other then some note that their were to be forthcoming. Anybody heard anymore as in more restrictions that might be in these forthcoming sanctions? I know some were imports but I am pretty sure exports was mentioned too.

But for many years, most of the MN have been coming from Ukraine?

Surplus your correct. Only a recent shipment of Molot Mosins were actually from Russia. Most have been from Ukrain and the Baltic states.

This is not what I really wanted to hear today. But ; so far , I've found that my girl seems to like the Bulgarian mil-surp made in both 55 & 80. And that is plentiful in this area. For now.. Just means the price will get pushed up.

This will make reloading a very viable alternative. There is a lot of Russian surplus outside of Russia.. I bet the Chinese have a ton too.
