Hey folks, I had such a great day at the range today! I had to join here and share my success with y'all. had been searching all over the net for a good long range load for the MOSIN. Not much luck, so I started in the middle, between .308 and .30-06. I load both of those and am familiar with them.
What I came up with was the 178gr Amax over 51gr of H-380. Primer was Win. WLR, PPU brass 3.00" C.O.L. This is the most accurate load I have ever fired! The 91/30 was doing 1-1 1/2 inches w/Wolf 174gr psp, I was impressed. When I fired the Amaxes I thought it was just luck. Nope, over and over sub MOA, I will try to post some pics. Some were in the 1/2" range, and I had to fight wind gusts 10-20. I am so so blown away with these results, I had to share them with you. I hope others will have results like I had today. My Mosin seems to love .308 slugs, have to take the chrono next time and get some FPS figs. I b a happy camper today!
