Latest Grimstod project

Postby Grimstod » Wed Aug 03, 2016 2:50 am

My 6mm BRX. Have it just about all don. Just have to go pick it up. This one should be a real shooter of bug holes. I designed a pic rail for it and CNC machines that up myself in the shop too. I think I may try to build bottom metal for it next and make a repeater for 6x47 Lapua.

Below is the unfire formed 6BR on the right and fire formed BRX on the left.

Scope rail I made. Maybe I could even give Rock solid some competition. lol The receiver is a Borden Alpine.

VERY nice. It looks like this will be a great shooter. I would really be surprised it it does NOT shoot a one hole group. Is I built in Mosin fashion? It looks more like Rem 700 style? Not that it matters. I'm just curious. I LOVE the bolt design on it. It's very attractive and looks very ergonomic.

Great job. I'm really looking forward to seeing this gun come together.

Nice job Ben, hey did you add any MOA to the rail when you machined it or are you going to use shims?

Thanks
Mark

No MOA on this one. Should not need it as this caliber does not drop very much.

These are loads for fire forming. Bill says the groups will still be one hole though. Thats really tight for a 6mm.

Nice Ben. Hard to beat those SWFA scopes. I'm getting ready to order another one in 12x I think. That's my favorite power in them.

Thanks. I love them too. This is the 20x version. I took it of Smyet 3. I really need a more powerful one though. Saw a 8-20x50 HD model for 800 once but had to pass because I did not have the money.
I am sure I can find one eventually soon as the cash comes in. Just a few more bonus checks and ill be there.
