Hey bud. I know the exact rings you speak of. I've used them on a couple Mosin builds to gain moa on rock solid mounts. I also use the version without inserts on all of my ordinary guns. They are great mounts in my opinion. Solid steel construction and the price is very competitive compared to other brands.

I have considered those rings to get more moa but I already have an expensive set of leupold solid steel rings that the scope is mounted in. I'm actually kind of up in the air over it. I suppose if I buy new rings I could always use the old set of rings on any new rifle but if I buy a new rail the old 0 moa rail would not be able to be used on any rifle. So I think I just talked myself into buying new rings.

Really eyeballing another Savage myself. This time maybe put a 6x47 in it. Let us know when you get that SWFA scope mounted. Its looking good. I love low recoil rifles too.

I was considering putting a MDT LSS stock on one and a swfa 10x on it. I picked up another mark II Fv-sr for my wife. I might pick up one here next month with my taxes.

I finally got time to start some load work on this rifle. The first test loads are grouping .6" which I'd be tickled with on a lot of rifles but I feel like this one can do better with some tuning. Shooting 200 grain Hornady ELD-X. These shoot shoot well at long range and will be a hard hitting deer load out to about 800 yards.

I to am way behind on load development. Need to take some fire brands out of the fire. lol. Getting a lathe soon though. I look through the thread and cannot find what your rifle is chambered in. Is it your 6.5-284?

I know exactly what you mean. It seems like I can't get anything done anymore. Yeah there's just way too much going on all the time.

I do have some 6.5-284 rifles but this one isn't one of Them. I picked this one up as a practice rifle for long range shooting. It's just a plain Jane 308. She won't be fast with super high by bullets but I will be able to run a truckload of ammo though it before burning the barrel out.

Also, if you're practicing with an ultra high BC bullet doing 3000 FPS you're not getting near the practice at reading wind and weather conditions as you could be. And if you're shooting a gun like that be ready to chase those lands and buy new barrels.

I use my 6.5-284 for hunting and guns like this and my mosin for practice. I feel it makes me a better shooter.
