Just to be accurate about the whole thing regarding U.S. Special Ops using AK's .....U.S. Spec-Ops have been using Ak-47's for over forty years , when the mission required it .
American Special Operations people use what-ever weapon might be "Mission specific" to THAT particular "OP". Regardless of what nation it came from . I've been in Armory rooms that held weapons from twenty-five or thirty different nations . Having the wrong weapon ; in the wrong place , at the wrong time , is not a good thing . And for the record ; a majority of American spec-ops people rate the AK as one of the best combat weapons ever devised .
Guess it all boils down to whether you do ; or do not like a Glock pistol , period . If you don't like them , you never will . If you like the Glock , for what-ever reason , you always will .
But the nit-picking and "raggin" about this doesn't fit right , and that part could be made better , and why didn't they do this part this way becomes nothing more than a lot of whining . If you buy a $400.00 handgun , why do you expect it to have all of the bells , whistles , and features of a $2,000 custom made "Comp" gun , and then bitch about how big a piece of junk it is , because it doesn't meet your expectations ?
I don't try to compare my G22 to a G17 . They are not the same gun .Trying to do so is just rationalization of some debating point .
The Army Colt .45 is considered the standard of combat pistols , world-wide , and I have carried them in combat . People swear by them , as the "God Gun", of combat pistols , but take it from someone who's been there . They have one serious , MAJOR , deficiency . They only carry five rounds ! Six ; with one in the pipe . You'd have to carry twelve mags to equal the fire-power of my G22's four mags . Weight is crucial to a combat field soldier . Same argument the DoD used to take away the M-14 , and give us that POS M-16 , that got a lot of people killed in Nam . Big difference was ; they took away our fire-power , and gave us a over-sized B.B.gun .
Comparing the G22 , .40cal Glock to the .45 is a fair comparison . Check the ballistics . And you get 15 or 16 rounds , instead of 5 or 6 . I'll take my G22 , thank you . It's ugly , but it works . And like my Grand-dad told me .
"Stop fixin it , It ain't broke" !
If not me.....Who ?
If not now ....When ?
