Cool!! 8-)

I kind of like that stock modelled after the CZ... The pistol grip and forend are just about perfect. The combination of high comb and low heel make it look different but that stock would definitely be more ergonomic in an erect (standing/kneeling) position.

Don't get me wrong... I like the boyds stocks, but they were designed around the prone position

I love the boyd's thumbhole, I used one in brown/brown laminate for my first Mosin Nagant build. 8-)

I like the stock you are going to use on your latest build... definitely keep us posted on that rifle as she comes together!!

Thank you so much for sharing this! You have fantastic collection -- restored and completely customized. Can't wait to see your next two builds ;) Boyds makes a very popular stock, are you going to use a Boyds for your next builds?

Yes, please keep posting pics of your progress... 8-) She looks great so far!!

I am also interested how it timed on the different receiver, and how the new front receiver ring affected head space. Please go in depth with the details!

Ok here is the finished pictures of the mosin with the uk-59 barrel, one of two barrels I purschased from Shepard. The other barrel is the Green Mountain Heavy Barrel.

After taking off the old barrel, and installing the new barrel only hand tight to check the tolerances, the new barrel extractor grove lined up from 8 o'clock to 1 o'clock, which was what I was expecting! So I was able to put the homemade action wrench on it and tighten it down so that the extractor grove lined up from the 1 o'clock to 6 o'clock position. The barrel was tightened down to well over 250 ft. pounds. (polish math lol= one guy 5'11" tall, weight 220 lbs, 1, 8 foot bar) I pulled until I couldnt pull anymore! The barrel tightened to where it should be, its flat against the front of the reciever. Then spending several hours checking and rechecking the head space, she was done and ready for a test fire. But she really wasn't done because there was more work left to do on the stock, bolt, bolt face, magazine well, and blueing.
