Thinking of thinning the herd

Postby dothedrew57 » Sun Jan 20, 2013 3:39 am

So I have 4 MNs. 2 91/30s, an M44, and a type 53. I NEVER shoot my long rifles. They literally just sit around taking up a ton of space in the safe.

One is a 1930 91/30(not a dragoon or anything has all 91/30 parts) with a 3 digit serial. Blueing is really worn on the receiver and the bore is dark but the rifling is strong.

The second is a 1939 refurb. Nothing special really but while the bore is really dark it shoots awesome and has great rifling.

I can post pictures tomorrow if you guys wants to see(and I'm sure some will). What do you guys think I should ask for them?

Yes! Pictures!

Dark bores can be fixed with a little polishing. The pitted and worn rifling can't be fixed.

I just wanna make a little room in the safe and but some different stuff.

Got a tempting off on my Russian sks last night. I could sell that and the ammo for enough to get a pretty nice carry gun

Older hex receivers usually go for 150$
Round will net you 120$

Those were my local dealers prices. But now every dealer sold out of everything. I am in the market for a hex receiver to rebarrel. Only thing that matters is the condition of the action to me. Already have my lother walther barrel coming.

I mean once I sell this it's the right of whoever owns it to do whatever.

I just think the first year of production on the model and 3 digit serial makes it kinda cool.

I wouldn't mind a 39 referb.. The T53 is something I like to get my hands on as well.
