Kalinka Optics Scope Mount

Postby TheJoe » Tue Oct 09, 2012 6:03 am

Anyone used this?

http://kalinkaoptics.com/mounts/other-m ... -rail.html

Looks fairly solid, I wonder how well it centers over barrel.

I have one I'll sell ya if interested. It doesn't have screws, even if you get it from the catalog. It fits a round receiver best. If interested I'll put the proper screws with it and mail it for 30.00 dollars PM me

Thanks

Does the rail center over the receiver pretty close?

From the look of it, you have to measure out the drill points perfectly to get the rail to level?

Does it mount over the mag well or further forward? (Drill into chamber or barrel threads?)

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really curious how it works exactly.

You want it Brett, go ahead. I'd like to have it, but I'm maxed on my gun spending for the month. Shepard, if you still have it 2 or 3 weeks let me know.

It sets off set to the left so you can use your iron sights. It bolts to the side wall of the receiver in the middle. No drilling in the chamber or thread area. I paid 39.00 dollars for it and was very disappointed - no screws and no instructions.

Gotcha, I knew it mounted to the side of the receiver, I just wasn't sure how far forward or back and exactly how the rail top leveled other than drilling & tapping at exactly 90 degrees.

Seems like it would have a screw in the middle column as well as the ends.

If you still have it in two weeks I'll take it, screws or no screws.

It says on the website that it installs in the same location as a PU rail, but does it use the same holes? It may not be the best solution, but I'd be interested if half the work was already done for me.
