Custom Mosin action and heavy barrel for sale

Postby Wildbillcody » Mon Dec 07, 2015 9:20 am

I wanted one as a sniper/target rifle. I collected all of these parts, sent them to a guy in Texas who said he could turn the blank, thread each end, fit and chamber the barrel blank for me. After a year of fussing with him, and getting sporadic updates of where he was in the process, I get a box back from him in that same condition when it left me.

Either he was BS’ing me the whole time, or he had my barrel done and F’d it up chambering it, he had sent me pics of it screwed into my receiver, but I get a blank back from him, he might have bought a replacement, I don’t know, I don't care, I was so mad that I didn’t want to talk to him ever again, and I really have given up on this project.

That being said I am not going to give it away, but if you’re interested I can let you have it for what I have in the parts.

Here is a breakdown of the parts;

Octagon Receiver $100
Green Mountain Barrel $ 75
Timmney Trigger $100
Finn magazine $50
Custom M28-76 type bolt W/ plastic or Steel knobs $100
7.62 x 54 reamer $75
Leupold Scope mount $30
Bedding pillars and Allen action screws $30
Gunsmithing work on receiver $75

The bolt lugs have been lapped, basically the barrel needs fitted, scope mount, then the stock.
$600 including shipping.

Was it an M28/76?
How long is the barrel blank?
Are you parting it out? If so I might be interested in the bolt.

Sorry to hear about the poor gunsmith experience, you should post his name so none of us use him!
