WTB M/N Receiver

Postby Wildbillcody » Wed Dec 04, 2013 8:06 am

I 'd rather not cut up a good rifle, but I want to start building a heavy barreled gun.

Mine advice is buy a cheap complete rifle to start with like a T53. Rather than piece milling the thing together it will save you time and money in the end. And you will end up with spare parts for future builds or you can sale them to someone else. I'm going the piece mill route on a build I'm gathering parts for now, which started with a stripped hex barreled action that had been counter bored and with poor rifling thinking I'd save money. But by the time I found and bought all the parts I was in it more than cost of another T53 which is what I used on my heavy barrel build. Just my $0.02

If you find a source that has multiple, give me a heads up. I'm looking to chop up a receiver and bolt in an attempt to make it left handed.

I hear you about the cost, however I hate to cut up a good rifle. I much prefer one someone already *****'d(even if I have to spend a little more)

I might know someone who has a few receivers, I don't know what he would ask for them. I know he has some Blindee receivers which are fine to use as a re-barrel project.

Let me know if your interested and I'll see what he's want for them. Remember all state and federal laws apply to purchasing a receiver so they'll need to be FFL paperwork on them.

I may be interested in one too if there are several. I'd prefer a Hex or a Hi-wall round one. I had a lead on one, but he decided not to sell. :( :x

If I was to buy one of your buddies receivers would he be willing to ship to Idaho FFL and on a side note, do you think that this blank barrel would be ok to put on it after being rechambered and threaded?
