Mosin trigger options?

Postby Bob the nailer » Wed Jun 10, 2015 2:58 am

What selection of triggers are available for the Mosin? I like ones that are in the 6oz pull weight range, I found Timney during a web search but looking for other options.

Thanks

Well the Timney is a great trigger and is adjustable but i dont that it will go down that light.
there is also the Huber Concepts trigger. But that wont safely go that light. http://huberconcepts.com/product/mosin-nagant-trigger/

6oz pull is pretty light.

Well it really depends on what your looking for, if you want to add an extra layer of safety to your Mosin Nagant then a Timney is the only way to go. If you're looking to only slightly improve them there are a ton of mods that can be performed.

Looks like Timney and Huber are the two that can adjust for creep, over travel and engagement. I can live with a 2lb pull if that's all there is.

Bob ; I live close to Timney's factory , and picked mine up there . I requested a 1 1/2 setting , and they were willing to do it for me . They also cautioned me to be very careful about letting others shoot my rifle with that light a pull , as most people have little or no experience with a trigger that light .
Timney's can be set down to one and a quarter pound pull , but they do not reccommend doing so for safety reasons , as Maurader suggested . I agree from seeing several AD's , as people put there finger on the trigger and "thought" they were going to "take up the slack", that wasn't there . And BOOM . Ruh-Roh !
If not me.....Who ?
If not now ....When ?

I generally don't let others shoot my rifles unless I thoroughly warn them about the light trigger. My 6-284 and 22-284 wild cat Mausers have 6oz Jard triggers. Thanks for the advice on calling Timney.

The one thing is Mausers have a safety, Mosin have one but with a modded trigger that safety might become useless. Adding a Timney will give you a true safety that is controlled with your thumb. I would also suggest you look at the spring I developed, that helps with cocking and lock times. Here is the link if your interested.
