I could not help myself. Found this B barrel Finn M39 and bid on it and won.

Nice. I don't think the fins ever made a bad looking Mosin

Grimstod mentioned to me about how he wished the Russians would have made the right hand grip like the Finn's. Now the I've noticed and you've posted this I agree. Very nice find. What is a B ? Looks good from the picture but then I'm not a collector.

One version of M91 and M39 rifle that causes much confusion are the so called B barrels. There are M91 barrels that have a B proof where the manufacture’s proof would normally be found. This B marking has been debated time and time again but it is clear the B signifies a barrel blank from Belgium. It is assumed these blanks were made into barrels at VKT and some rare examples have VKT and Belgium proofs as well as the B marking. Belgium supplied at least 13,000 of these blanks and all were supposed to be for the M91 rifle; however, the Finns did use a number of these blanks for the M39 service rifle.

So basically it is a Tikka barrel using a barrel blank made in Belgium. They were more common on the M91 than the M39, so I should be up in the rarity scale. I also have two Finn Mosins with barrels made by SIG in Switzerland.

I now own 14 Mosin Nagants. When will I own enough? Maybe after:

Ganny have you ever seen a C or an A marked barrel? I've read they exist but have never seen one. That is a really beautiful Finn. Did you happen to look at the plug area by the magazine? I'm wondering if it's battle damage?

Nope, and if I did, I would surely try to buy it. The plug? I have no idea, but the rest of the wood is pretty good.

It also shoots very well, like I expect a Finn should.
