DevilDog used 190 and 200 grain SMK's out of his M28-76... he posted several recipes in this thread. http://socamo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3176

There's a pretty good difference in bearing surface and pressure between the SMK and VLD bullets. I have seen that first hand. You can definitely put a lot more powder behind an VLD bullet.

Well my suppressor cover came in, I ordered the bowers griptastic silicon cover. Can't wait to see if it stops the barrel mirage.

Well I'm using the 190 gr SMK in my silent but deadly and will use 175 gr smk in this bad boy...I used my magic 175 gr load of 54 gr of imr 4350 and shot it will my diopters at 100 yds in 4 shot groups. Here is my results.

the group on the lower left was my first group after bore sighting, I then adjusted the diopters and shot the second group right at the bullseye. I thought it was pretty good for sights at 100yds. What do you guys think?

Not bad... It looks like you were using an elongated aiming black, and your group is higher than the width spread.

Aperatures are made for 'bullseye' type targtets... just lining up the circles. I garuntee that group will tighten up if you use the correct size aiming black bullseye target.

That sounds like a good idea to do...I'm glad she's a shooter...what you are saying makes since because I was trying to get the front diopter centered in the rear diopter, and the center what little of the red I could see in the middle of all that.

I have a few questions about the finn diopters on the 28/76. First, is there anywhere I can pick up some inserts for the front diopter? Second, is there other size rear diopter peep discs to match up with the front sight? And finally, does anyone know the size of the adjustments are with each click on the rear diopter, elevation and windage?
