revisting the Finn M28 build

Postby rjmt » Sun Jan 15, 2017 1:18 pm

I posted on a collectors web site : what is the proper configuration for a Finn M28. The response from Finland was - the M28 was issued in 1928 to the Civil Guard. They were used for 10 years of training and decade of combat. The Finns used whatever parts they had to repair them for return to Combat.
Then they were restored Post War and used for training until the mid '70s

Mine is an early production with a Sig barrel and a 2 piece nose cap
but my stock is a post war M29/30 style potbelly stock with 2 crossbolts and a metal shim re-enforced forend. The proper nosecap for such a configuration would be single piece nosecap such as was found on the M28/30. You can't use a screw in front cap because of the re-enforcing strips.

does anyone have or know where I can find an M28/30 single piece nosecap with cross screw?
