Tariffs - Politics and Powder

Postby Grindl » Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:21 pm

The recent situation between Canada and the U.S. regarding tariffs concerning milk exports , and soft lumber imports , may be of concern to Americans as shooters , or it may be nothing at all .

The only reason I even bring it up , is because the U.S. is getting a large portion of our reloading powder through Canadian importers and Canadian manufacturers . At some point this could affect us due to increased costs , from increased tariffs by either country .

I recommend that we monitor the situation for any news of tariff increases on shooting / reloading products coming from Canada , and purchase some powder of the type you use as a hedge against price increases due to a political situation that none of us have any control over . I'm not suggesting that anyone go on a panicked buying spree at your local store , but a extra container or two might not be a bad idea , if it fits the budget . I'd also add primers to that list , too .

It's always easier to get ahead of a problem , than try to play catch-up .
If not me.....Who ?
If not now ....When ?
