Ranges or open land near San Diego?

Does anyone know of any open land where shooting is permitted (and possibly over night camping) in the San Diego area?

i know you can camp at butterfield ranch and walk towards mountains 1 mile and shoot there. it is blm land. butterfiel is out past julian on S2........
