Krink I love your GUN!!!! I fallowed its contraction on the other forum that you originally posted it on. I think SRF. So glad to see it over hear. Your build has been very inspiration to several other people here.

Thanks alot. I have seen some very cool builds on here too. I just realized today how many more good stocks there are now for the Mosin. I am getting ready to build a 6.5x54R and I have been debating what stock to use. The Arcangel looks to cheesy but I like the detachable mag idea. I think I am going to go with one of Big Gorrilas stocks at this point.

I am going to be using a Rock solid mount this time as the folks over there have been very good to me. Its taking longer than I wanted to to collect all the peices. I have 2 donor rifles I can use. One is a Westinghouse and the Other is a Remington, both Hex receivers. I have a Brand new Broughton 6.5 Barrel blank.

Very cool. I think my next build I'm going to make it a 260 which will be very similar to yours, only easier to get brass

Nice rifles. I'm with on the ProMag stock. I like them at first just because all the hype but the magazine is the real attraction. If only there was a way to put that feature using those into another stock but I'm sure that would involve cutting up an AA stock to accomplish. I like the idea of the 6.5x54r I bet those would get going pretty fast.

KRINK_N_STIEN,
Yea I saw this on the AK boards awhile ago and it was inspiration and a really sweet idea, which some of us have been thinking about bridging the rear on next build. Question for you on the bridge: how did you do it?.. just MIG weld? slow? many passes? heat sinking? and any annealing after the fact? or other things to consider to keep that receiver from warping? Any direction/concerns/warning/advice for some of us wanting to go this way would be appreciated!! Thanks again for sharing and good to see you on board here.

I actually tig welded the rear bridge on. The front saddle is bolted on, I did not do any welding on the front due to the fact I did not want to disturb the heat treat of the locking lug abbuttments. Then I screwed the Sako TRG mount onto the saddles I machined and epoxy bedded it all down. I have shot I lot of rounds out of this gun and it shoots SUB MOA if you want to believe it or not. Here are a couple more pics of targets and ammo. All Lapua brass and match components.

Krink N Stein,
Awesome build and I have seen the results.. and figured you did not weld the front end. As for the rear end did you do all the Tig welding in one session or do it in stages due to heat concerns or since its in the rear and the bolts seem a bit loose anyways in the MoNa rear it seems a lot of warping would have to happen to screw things up back in the rear imho. My approach was planned to either weld the rear and set a scope mount over it in aluminum(limited funds for now) but I know steel would be best and tap and screw the front and rear and bed it with a 20 moa mount.

Love that stock too.. a great creative approach to a one off MoNa!
Thanks..
