built this rifle several years ago:
'31 Ishevesk Hex
reproduction PEM scope mount
reproduction PE scope
timney trigger
floated barrel, shimmed and torqued
used a Smith Sights accuracy kit
I was dissapointed with the original accuracy for all my work with PPU match ammo. This week, I tested 6 different brands of ammo and found LVE 200 gn match ammo shot the best out of this rifle, but Brown Bear 174 gn FMJ was close at half the price. This specific rifle just does not like PPU ammo.
this target was after 3 warm up shots, then 5 for record
at 50 yds. The flyer was my fault, I flinched in expectation of the recoil of the heavy rounds. Hope to get to a longer range soon for long range testing.
also, the Brown Bear lacquer cases cycled smother than LVE brass match ammo
