Lovin the Black Mamba build!!! Gorgeous rifle and outstanding work! I'm very interested in your bolt head modification. Will be needing something similar for my "Evil Twins" project. Going to build a matching set on my two t53 actions, one for myself and the other as a surprise for my Dad. Did you completely fabricate a new bolt head?

Thank you. I've purchased complete mosin bolt for 12GA device long ago & modified it...
It is still available for purchase...

You will need lathe & mill to modify it correctly... The steel the bolt head is made of is extremely hard to work with. SS will not work only Carbide alloys.
Also you'll need Medium Sako Extractor Kit http://shop.pacifictoolandgauge.com/ind ... cts_id=227
and Remington Ejector Kit https://shop.pacifictoolandgauge.com/in ... cts_id=225

I used Yugoslavian M76 10rd Magazine, 8X57 Mauser

Numrich has them (the 12 gauge bolt heads) still listed... though I don't think they are still available. I tried to buy two last year and was promptly sent an e-mail that they were out of stock, and no backorder because they didn't know when they would be getting anymore.

It's worth a try though. pmac_58 if you are able to get them, please let us know and I'll jump on them also.

So they're not available any longer... Any ways, principle is understood, so with a proper equipment whole process of manufacturing of a new bolt head with square edges would not take longer then adopting this 12ga one...
My lathe is still under development due to a fact that some essential parts are on a back order, so I just stuck with disassembled equipment & unfinished projects for awhile. Hopefully I'll get them soon, so I'll have some progress.

That is such an amazing build, and though this thread is old, I'm hoping that I could get some help.

Currently, I have the ready availability to pick up a UK-59 barrel for $75. It's pre-threaded for a Mosin Receiver, but will need some light gun smithing.

Alternatively, I could pick up a barreled receiver, and do this process that you have shown.

I am totally ok with either one, and I am willing to take on the cost of either project. Who knows. Maybe I'll do both.

But, my question for you is, if you have a barrel sleeve (the 12 gauge), how are you fitting on the muzzle break? Is it connected to the actual barrel?

I can't seem to wrap my head around it.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

Thank you! I'm glad you like it & inspired!

The muzzle brake is set on the inner (actual) barrel... I've threaded it & made sure that it sticks out just enough to install the muzzle brake! Simple...

Great work Dmitry. Nice to see some new photos too. I would love to see another video some time. Have you don't much in load development?

Thx Ben! You're right, I should make some new videos. Haven't been doing any reloading for over a year, maybe even longer... Shame on me! Need to get back on track, I have everything needed & closer to winter I'll start reloading more. In California a winter is the best season for target shooting, more places available for shooting...
