You're very welcome!
You will need to reduce a diameter of chamber area of your barrel a little ... because shotgun barrel has almost identical diameter.
If you don't have a lathe, just use powerful drill to hold & spin the barrel & a grinder (both spinning in opposite directions) this way you'll grind off unwanted material & will have very uniform nice round... Very easy to control.

1 1/4 od chromoly tubing

What opinion would you have regarding this tubing as a sleeve. With the straight profile it would look like a true bull barrel and I think the wall thickness should provide enough room for reaming. It would be thin around the breech... around 0.065, give or take but I'm thinking that it shouldn't make a difference since the stress is contained in the actual barrel.

Just rolling around ideas, thinking out loud. More or less I'm a bit of a tightwad lol.

Happy shooting!

I think it is pretty good idea if you indeed want to make straight profile barrel... It would definitely simplify whole procedure. I would thread barrel end & make steel fitting to center the tube & this would make the barrel with a sleeve look like one piece.

That was my thought exactly, I was thinking of making an oversized index, so to speak, for my brake that could double as a pilot to center the sleeve.

Thank you so much for the input, I'm done thread jacking now ;)

Beautiful rifle!!!
Must ask since I am new to moding and currently in the process of my 1st, what benefits does the BinB have on the rifle besides the added weight?

Thank you & welcome to the forum...
Regarding the barrel sleeve (BinB) there is one important benefit such as improved accuracy. The sleeve eliminates barrel weep thus improves groping... & I just like the way it looks much better then regular thin Mosin barrel...

Don't know if it makes much difference but the rifle I am modding is a Finnish M39. How did you go about deciding what size barrel or tube for the outer barrel?

Well that's was easy in my case since the barrel is 18" long originally... So I had no much options. :)
