Looking good!! I bet you can't wait to put it together... ;)

Shepard beds his barrels... and your rifle is obviously going to be shot prone or off a bench w/ a bipod. I don't think you'll lose anything by bedding the barrel (the entire thing, or a support point at the end of the forearm). For accuracy you want consistency, and unless you're planning to shoot it positionally w/ sling support, or other crazy ways besides bipod support... then I'd be inclined to bed the barrel too.

I really like that stock and it looks great with Sheps adapter. I put that stock on my target 22 (pepper laminate, and stippling around the grip). I think you will really like it. I can't wait to get an adapter now.

Well me and T spent some time at his place taking barrels off and modding my heavy build. Still needs tons of work. The receivers metal was so hard we burned 3 bits and still didn't get it drilled for the rock solid mount. Well here is a teaser til I get it done. Image

MidwayUSA sells high speed drill bits, tomorrow i can give you the right name, it is like night and day when you use this type compared to the off the shelf drill bit. They go in like if the metal was butter.

I had a high speed drill bit that I attempted to do it with, every other receiver has been fine with that... but this one is HARD!! It's a Remington receiver, and it just rolls the cutting edge over. We're going to go with a carbide bit, and hopefully that's hard enough to cut.

Hey guys, I had this issue with my m39 custom that I did a while ago... try cobalt bits, they are the hardest I know of...if none of that works, you may have to spot heat the locations for the screw holes to be drilled.

Well I got my RSI scope mounted. I used 4 cobalt bits and didn't do it. Had to order carbide bits which cut through the receiver like butter. I duracoated the action/barrel/bolt today and I'll post pictures when it cures. Here is my stock finished. I just need to put duracoated clear on it later this afternoon.
