Some shots of the new rear monopod. I use an adjustable rest when I shoot but the bipod was faster to set up for pics as it was just begining to snow. :-)

Welcome to Socamo, we like the modifications! Especially when you can go above and beyond an ATI stock and a scout mount...

Nice work! I really like what you have done with it! Where did you get a clear butt pad?

The butt pad is a piece of 1/2" urethane. Many years ago I was given a small box of scraps that I use for pads on most of my builds. I'm just a home hobby builder and this is my first attempt at an M-N. I have some ideas for another one if I ever find another donor for the receiver/bolt/mag.

Great build.. like to hear on your experience of doing the bridge over the rear... what you recommend/your experience. Fellow Ohioan here too.. thats done a few builds but I dont have the machine skills you got. When you got time check out MaD HatTeR MoDdErS on Faceback we could use a few more mad minds like yours in our small group!
Keep thinking out of the box!

I'm not a facebook member, something never seemed right about it to me. Now that I've done one the bridge is pretty simple. The hard part was designing a scope mount to fit it. There is a whole lot more to the build than I have posted here as I wasn't sure how it'd be received.

Being a home hobby builder this kind of build is just done for fun. I built an unusual 54r 98 Mauser earlier in the year and thought it'd be nice to have a companion gun to compare accuracy results with. It probably has more to do with the shooter than the rifle but so far the .6" group with the Mosin beats my best .75" group with the Mauser.
