Very Awesome build! Love the chassis system! Awesome work!

Christmas eve afternoon shoot. 8 five shot groups with different ammo (except for two best targets) shot in order 1 through 8.

If not for that flyer on top this would have been fantastic. The first four shots measure .16" center to center.

I think The whole "hot barrel" thing doesn't apply to these heavy barrels.

Awesome job. Those are some great groups. Reloads really show the potential of the rifle. It's a shame so many people are left with a bad taste in their mouth from shooting crap surplus ammo leading to the false reputation of bad accuracy from mosins.

Got the Mosin over to the 200 yard range with some previously untested reloads (first time using Varget). I shot the bottom target first and discovered the scope was still set for 100 yards when the first shot dropped under the paper. Bottom target was first, top target was 4th. I was making scope adjustments on targets 2&3.

A friend stopped by the shop a couple weeks ago as I was closing up to go to the range and test out my new Rugged Surge suppressor so I asked him if he wanted to tag along. I knew he has a couple guns, at least a 10-22 and an FAL so I'd assumed that he was a shooter at some point before I met him 12 years ago. He seemed a little nervous when I pulled up to the 100 yard range so I started asking pertinent questions. Turned out that the FAL is a NIB belgian he bought in the 70's and he'd only ever fired the 10-22 one time at short range at some cans back then too.

So I played the part of a trainer and after moving the sights to adjust for the can set him up behind the rifle. He's a lot taller than me so the fit wasn't perfect but we made due. I hand loaded each of the 5 rounds into the mag and kind of hovered around him like I would with any new shooter keeping it safe. He did his part and the rifle did the rest. I recorded a few seconds of video and took some photos as a momento of his shooting cherry getting popped and put it in a video for him. First time shooting centerfire, first time at 100 yards.

Don't you love shooting suppressed? Once you go it's hard to go back.

Yes I do. I have had an approved form 1 build ready to start for months but have been waiting on the Rugged Surge to be released so I could copy the mounting system. That way I can use the same flash hider/brake for both cans.

Sorry, but no. I've been so busy in the shop for the last several months that I barely have time to do anything for myself anymore. I've had two project rifles on hold since the end of last year.

I did make two more chassis systems for my Savage bolt guns early last year before things started getting crazy, I started with a .223 Savage model 12FV from Cabella's. The FV was a blind magazine rifle so I had some incentive to incorporate an AI magazine.

And ended with a Savage FCP-K I'd bought back in 2010 but hadn't shot much.
