well here she is at home sweet home! I've got her scoped, broke in, and began doing some load work...at 48 gr of accurate 4350 it shot about 1/2" at 50yds...49.5 and 50 gr puts them in one ragged hole barely bigger than the bullet at 50 yds... at 48 the recoil was very mild and it was sharp at 50gr...all this was unsuppressed...my next step is a ladder test and to shoot her with no report sound!

I've been thinking about velocity vs recoil with this round...all though it shoots really well at 50gr, the recoil is getting pretty stout...so I'm thinking I want to find the accuracy node below the 50gr and compare the ballistics of the two...then decide on what charge to go with, because I would like to fire the rifle as many times as wanted...

Does it have a brake? Or just a suppressor? I can't imagine it being any harder recoil than a 30-06

Well it hasn't had my suppressor on it yet, until today! I weighed the rifle before and after screwing on the suppressor. It weighed 13.5lbs before and 16.5lbs after... man I thought this rifle was great before, now that I have her suppressed she is SICK! But, I had 25 rounds loaded that were charged with 50gr of accurate 4350... man oh man, the suppressor made it feel like .243 win! !! I couldn't believe the difference. .. so I definitely won't be worrying about recoil now, just accuracy and velocity. ..

Well I did some more load development today, a ladder test to be exact...@ 335 yds...when I shot groups at 50yds I found 49-50gr to be the sweet spot...when I shot today I found that 49-50gr to again be the sweet spot...had 2 @ 49.5 nearly touch...so I believe that I am gonna split the difference and go with 49.5gr to allow for temp changes...

Hey guys, wanted to give an update. I loaded up about 40 rds using berger 140gr vld, nosler .280 rem brass reformed, trimmed, and neck turned... and my charge of 49.5gr of accurate 4350... headed out to do some long range shooting. 535, 768, and 862 yds were the distances... this rifle will perform better than my abilities will allow it, my smith did a great job...it was a very calm day, I shot a 6" 5 shot group at 768yds and a 8.25" 5 shot group at 862 yds...out to the 768 I didn't have any wind change at all from my 200 yd zero, but at 862 I guess the arc was high enough to get into some upper winds and I had about 20" of wind drift...approximately .8 mils worth. I wish I had taken pictures, but I forgot to after seeing how well it shot...I was like a kid in a candy store... I plan to shoot again soon and hopefully I can get pictures or maybe even video...
