Mosin bolt

Postby toplaymusik » Thu Apr 16, 2015 4:39 pm

Hello all I am new to the forum, great to be here. I just have a quick question. I'm doing and aftermarket Mosin Nagant build with the Archangel stock. I originally bought a Russian 9130 but decided I wanted the shorter barrel on the carbine version, so I'm trying to sell the 91 30 and purchase an M 44 carbine. I already have a bolt from the 91 30 with the bent bolt handle and aftermarket bolt knob which I like very much. Will the 91 30 bolt be compatible with the M 44 carbine? I don't want to have to buy a new bolt as these parts are increasingly hard to find and I am fairly happy with the one I currently have? Thanks everyone.

Some quick information I forgot about. 9130 is a round receiver not a hex.

Any time everything isn't numbers matching, heads pace must be a concern...and sometimes even then...

the bolt should work fine, the head space maybe be fine also BUT I would check it myself or have a gunsmith do it for you.
this is cheap peace of mind,
if you want to do it yourself get these, you can read up on there use on the site also. the no-go and field set would do for nearly every one but a builder that is installing barrels.

good luck :)
