Here's a picture of one of the Finnish Mosin Nagants I own.
It's is a Finnish M91/30 manufactured by Tikka in 1944.
I bought this one a couple of years ago in Germany,to be more specific, I bought it in the former DDR (German Democratic Republic)
It just looked to good to leave it behind and I didn't have one in my collection.
It didn't need much cleaning but I took it apart and documented everything I could find.
I do this with all my rifles.
The most noticeable difference between the Soviet M91/30s and the Finnish version is the blade front sight as opposed to the post and globe used by the Soviets.
Most US collectors refer to this front sight as the "Finnish stacked blade".
Some Finnish rifles also use a post and globe though.
Most Finnish M91/30 rifles are built on the earlier hexagonal receivers, but you can find some that are built on the later round receiver.

Now that bayonet makes your M39 complete.
Not only relatively rare, but also a fantastic piece of Finnish craftsmanship.
Thanks for posting the picture DevilDog.

Just got my first Finn:

IMAG0242.jpg

It's a 1944 M39 with a VKT barrel. I'm currently stripping her down and cleaning every little piece.

The rear sight looks brand new! And the bore isn't too shabby either:

After I 'finnish' up this current project and get some more funds, I'm going to buy another 1944 M39 with a VKT barrel and leave it original to have a before and after shot.
