I have read for years that the Finn M39 is the "holy grail" of Mosins
finally found one in my price range
advertised as "a veteran of the Continuation War, not an armory rebuild"
and that is what I got - a battlefield recovery rifle
'43 Sako M39 - stock is combat "seasoned" I swear those are barbed wire cuts on this stock
Hex WW 1 Mosin '91 receiver
bolt is gray and corroded
corrosion and rust under the stock, action very stiff, bore is gray and pitted
trigger is ???? - all my Mosins have better triggers
will take some work to bring it back to my expectations for an M39
but I have the time this Winter
as advertised, it is a true collectors grade rifle from the
Continuation War,
the initials of the Finn soldier who carried it are cut into the stock with a knife blade
the original owner probably didn't have an opportunity to clean it after the last time he shot it - probably laid in the snow for quit a while
but I want a shooter
