Balistic Calculators - Any Good - Mid priced Ones out there

Postby Grindl » Fri Nov 06, 2015 2:45 pm

Looking for a new mid-priced Ballistics Calculator , and since new stuff is always coming out , prices go down on last weeks "flavor of the Month". What is a good direction to go in ?

Best route in my opinion is get the "Shooter" app on your phone or iPad. Works amazing. I think it costs $10 if I remember right and you can put it on as many devices as you want. Worth every penny and then some in my opinion.

I've heard shooter is good for Apple users. I too use strelok being an android user. I like it. It will get you pretty colse. Like anyone will tell you they are only as good as the data you input to them. Garbage in garbage out.

Thanks for your input . I have windows 7 on my computer , and my phone is a Samsung "S". Not very "techie" savvy about the phones . Wouldn't carry one if my wife didn't make me . So if someone would give me a short tutorial in how to find these "systems", and the process of down-loading them , it would be appreciated .

There should be an area called Google play on the phone...go into that and then go into the area called apps... then type in Strelok in the search bar...a list of apps will appear, go into the one you want and click on download...

Really appreciate the fast response , Farmerboy . Going to take a stab at getting it loaded . Great step by step instructions . Even a "tech" illiterate like me should be able to do that . Thank you .

Took a couple of stabs to get it right , but I finally got it . Thanks guys for all your input , and thank you Farmer , for walking me thru it . As always ; this IS the "go-to" site for any assistance without the "High-brow" or being talked down to .

I think another good option would be JBM Ballistics. It a website that you can make very accurate printable charts. Not hand held but if you haven't used it before it's another good option. And it's free.
