I had a few primer pieces on my No 4 MK I and got blasted in the face but nothing like that. Please be careful Jerry, I am going to try giving you a call tomorrow morning.

Just wanted to keep you informed -- I was able to fix the problem I experienced with this rifle. Cutting the lead in to the bore fixed the problem. This is the problem of having zero jump. The factory target rounds are pretty hot and I was basically jamming the bullet into the bore. The pressures would spike and blow out the primer.

After cutting the throat and advancing the lead ---- that cured my problems. We shot it this weekend. Now we are fine turning scope and load. I got a box of Nosler Custom Competition 150 grain bullets. We're working on finding the right load, this will take a little time and experimentation. Right now its printing a 2 inch 5 shot pattern at 100 yards. I want one -- 5 shot ragged hole. Nothing else is except-able.

It was brought to my attention that I needed to up date this post. The barrel I made for Suzy's target rifle was from a blank secured from Numrich Gun Parts. It is a 6 lands and groove barrel. I did all the necessary work to set up the barrel. It has a completely fresh chamber at the time of the primer perforation. I Have a throat cutting reamer that removes a small amount of the lands so the bullet has an easier start and centers on the bore better. Without throating the bore the steel blue box ammo bullets were digging into the lands at the start of the bore and creating an unnecessary pressure spike.

After throating the bore there has been no pressure issues and no more blown out primers --- the rifle proves itself better and better each time she shoots it
