I'm late to the game on this thread, but I just placed an order for a K-31 from Simpson LTD. I've been wanting one for a good while, even if the ammo is a bit hard to come by. Based upon some talk on other forums, I'm fairly certain I'm going to like it!

I was a fun rifle but my carbine is so much more fun. i wish i could have redone the stock but all in all i am a happy camper. they do shoot fantastic and the straight pull is THE best ever produced IMO. ammo is expensive but all the surplus is match grade so thats not bad. try looking for ammo through jgsales or classicfirearms.

That would be the one! My brother has liked that gun for a while, so I know he will be itching to shoot it as well.

Good thing I now have an M44 in my possession as well! 8-)

The guys over on the Swiss rifle forums recommended this place for ammo - J and C Sales That's not a bad price at all for surplus GP-11.

Enjoy it! Its a neat piece of history. i always got looks at the range when i shot it. probably because it sounded like a shotgun cocking when i cycled the bolt. remember after firing the last round that the bolt will NOT close. you can damage the magazine if you force it.

That's something that I'm well aware of thankfully :D

The first time I tried to cycle the bolt on a Mauser I felt like a noob. However, when I handed it back to another shop employee with the action open as I always do when I'm looking at firearms, they did the same thing. I didn't feel so bad after that!
