I can send yon contact info on a very good smith over there with mosin experience but I don't think any smith in the USA has ever done of PEM. They are so rare and repros are expensive so no one ever uses them. They really are not hard to do if you have the good equipment.

there is one gunsmith in Florida who has done several, but he's unavailable for 6 weeks. May have to wait

I have the mount and have selected one of my Mosins for the project
if you can recommend any West Coast gunsmith, I would appreciate it

otherwise, I just have to wait

thanks

I sent you a PMessage

Also have you checked you chamber for bore erosion. Just looking don't the barrel can be deceptive cause the rifleing isn't always the best indicator of a barrels age.

I lapped the bore and chamber with JB bore compound
used a 12 ga brush with electric drill on the chamber
checked headspacing
with the technology and knowledge I have, it looks good for this project.

now, my M38 is my finest shooter.

thanks for your feedback, will keep you updated as the project progresses

thanks for the videos - I've done this on my NM Garand and Rem 700VS, but not my Mosins

somehow I get the opinion that you are a dedicated shooter, not just a blogger - of which I have run into way too many

I used to shoot NRA HP Military Match - out to 1000 yds
with my NM .308Garand - but that was when I was a young man with good eyes. I have 100 rnds of IMI brass fire formed for my Rem 700 - hand trimmed every case.

have a plaque on the wall - Ft Lewis, Wa 1991
1000 yds - iron sights - NM Garnad - my Glory Days!!

please keep in touch - it's enjoyable to communicate with one who has taken his shooting and reloading to the extreme
