It is good little machine for $350 & ok for little parts such as head bolt or bolt knob... Works very well & so far I'm pleased!

It states that chuck capacity is 5/8" but it is actually accepts 3/4" no problem (I've checked it).
RPM regulates by engine & it turns off automatically if chuck is overloaded... (So need to be very careful during cutting...)
Can be used for various thread cutting...
I've find out that I'm off tomorrow! So this night going to be long.....

Well If a barrel no thicker then 3/4" then it is possible. Technically this little guy has everything necessary for a job.

Does it have a way to support the barrel on the outboard side of the head stock? I made an adapter for mine to support the barrel during threading or chamber reaming.

Iridium's New Tool Thread Mini Lathe

Postby iridium-192 » Tue Dec 25, 2012 11:38 am

Here is a result (the broken drill bit is still there...)
& again - it was made using my 7"x10" precision mini lathe .... I've marred a bit this bolt head while first attempt of using drill bit press with cross cut vise (I never gotta use it for milling again...) it is toooooo looooose for doing any kind of milling. (Maybe it is good for wood or aluminum & soft steel but not for forged or tempered steel for sure!)
