Found two big bags of .311" FMJ's

Postby MJ1 » Thu Nov 23, 2017 9:58 am

Looking for some 86g .309" bullets I thought I had I pulled out a .30CAL. can and found two large bags of .311" 152g FMJ BT's I forgot I had. I have been using up my supply of Sierra 174g SMK's for 100 yard ammo for guests this month.

According to my log book I think these are from my last reloading session in 2009 so possibly PRIVI bullets.

Still didn't find any 86g pellets for 7.62X25. Anyone else loading the Tokarev ammo ? I do have a few bags of 110g .30" carbine bullets and lots of Bullseye powder but I am not sure that would be good for my pistols.

...........Cheers..........

From the for what it's worth dept. , My Dad loaded Bullseye for his .45 ACP handguns throughout his competition career , and won a couple of Ohio Governors Cup trophy's , a few Natl. Championships , and was a NRA Distinguished Master ...so I think that powder will work if you follow recommended load data . As always , start out light , and work your load up .

Personally ; I always thought it was a little on the "dirty" side , like some of the cheaper Euro powders . Like whatever Tulammo uses in their ammo . But that's just me .
If not me.....Who ?
If not now ....When ?

Looking for data on the powder and 110g .30" now and ordered 95g and 96g Hornady and Sierra bullets mid week. I made up 40 cases from .223's last year and have 100 S&B and PPU once fired cases all cleaned up.
