I can tell you how to stop having that problem crushing the top brass. There are some things that are learned from experience. I had the same thing happen to me -- I followed the setup instructions that came with the dies --- wrong wrong wrong. I found the the die sits to deep in the press -- what ever your instructions say to set your seating die - back off 1 turn or whatever -- back it out 2 or 3 turns and screw your adjuster down deeper into the die to seat your bullets. Also put a little grease in the top of the seating die to keep the bullets from getting stuck.

Over primed brass with 42gr of IMR4350

Every bullet is turning out this way and its frustrating me. The neck is ruined and the bullets stays lodged in the seating die. These are RCBS dies. PPU bras once fired. I have to take the dies apart to get the bullet out when it gets stuck in the seating die.

I believe God is talking to you. 42 grs of IMR 4350 under a 174 gr SMK is GROSSLY UNDER CHARGED AND YOUR ASKING FOR PROBLEMS. I've looked through my books and there is no such data. What published data are you using? Please share so I know where to look.

My book doesn't show a listing for IMR 4350 but it lists a minimum of 51 and max of 55 with H 4350. I know these powders are not exactly the same and are not interchangeable but they are very similar.
