New Muzzle Brake

I'm doing a job for a customer and he ask if I would put a muzzle brake on his new barrel -- I says yes. So he asks my opinion on these muzzles on this site. http://muzzlebrakesandmore.com/Ported_Muzzle_Brakes.php I suggested one and he bought it -- the brake was at my house like in two days. Now I received a beautifully made 3 port GILL brake. It the best made brake for the dollar. This mans site runs by private messaging so you talk directly to the machinist. He has lots of combinations of size a threads I'm getting the 5 port brake for my SV98 to replace the one I have on it.

Very nice looking brakes. I looked at those before buying the brake for mine. I almost bought one but I wasn't sure about some things in my build yet so I went with the cheaper brake.

It most likely will be here early in the week. All i have to do is unscrew mine and use some timing shims to set the ports. So I can say if its Gods will then I'll be on the ride early in the day. I'm looking forward to the trip.

Let me just say as its my 2nd or 3rd post, I'm all for the threaded REAL muzzle brake but I found this: http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/mosinnagantm3 ... break.aspx I have NEVER seen this one like this and was wondering if anyone had had a good/bad experience with one. I'd like to get one for my 1944 m44 (for haha's and looks at the range) and I THINK it will fit BUT I see in the url link it says M38 muzzle break. kinda cornfused me but I figured I'd take a shot and share. I did email them but they have yet to respond.


ps: If they are good and will work don't everybody buy them up till I can get one lol.

M38 and M44 have the same barrel profile so this will fit. I have considered this one myself.

I have no experience with this brake but it does look like a decent one. None of the clamp on ones are as accurate as a spin on in my opinion because there's no way to get the slop out. But it should reduce the recoil.

If you have any ability to thread or get it threaded -- a screw on muzzle brake is the only way to go. If not give it a try -- hope you find it when you shoot it off.

Hey thanks for the input guys. Looks like I didn't get to them in time..... They have disappeared from that site! Never got a reply from them either. O WELL, guess I'll have to go with a threaded one when I can.
