range time today

Hey guys, ever since I built my suppressed m28/76 I have not had a chance to shoot it past 100yds...that is until today! I started at 300 and worked to 628yds...at 300 she shot a 2"group...at 628 yds i was punching a 10x10 steel gong...I had my kestrel Bluetooth setup and put my leica lrf 1200 to work...the leica easily shot the range and the kestrel is worth it's weight gold, made these ranges easier than without. I am running strelok pro in conjunction with the kestrel. I'm thinking I may go ahead and install a timney on this rig, the original m28/76 trigger is great but I'm not sure if it is what I need at these extended ranges...maybe it's me but the poundage just seems to be too much to shoot like I am used to with my other rifles. Can you file/sand down the sear spring on the 28/76 trigger to lower the poundage? I would rather keep the original trigger if I can lower the poundage. I will post some pics of my gear I use...

I have a M28/76 target trigger in one of my builds. You said pounds -- I put my trigger scale to it and there is no poundage or oz's -- it just starts traveling till bang and it goes off. It is the first trigger I've used that gives no indication when the gun is going to fire. That way you don't flinch. My Timney triggers all have great function and are adjustable -- it just that you can tell when the trigger breaks or releases. The target trigger moves with no resistance till it breaks.

Well that trigger is different than the one I have, mine is a true 2 stage. It has the pretravel as do all 2 stage triggers, then you feel the wall...I am wanting to lower the poundage of the second stage.

Very nice equipment you've got there. Kinda makes me feel like I'm rubbing sticks together for fire back here in the stone age. But seriously very nice. I've heard great things about the kestrel products.

Thanks guys for the comments, I love the leica and kestrel. ..can't say enough about them even after only limited use. The kestrel is worth it without a doubt. I also ordered a Caldwell chronograph today, I hope I like it too. But I'd really like to see what you guys are using!!!

I love the Kestrel wind meter. Is that a tail fin to spin the meter in the direction of the wind? As for the trigger, it came straight out of a M28/76 I'm building for a man in Israel.

Yes in is the tripod/ wind vane setup, you can with 2 pushes of a button designate the direction to the target and then release the vane and mine will Bluetooth everything as far as wind and temp and such to my ballistic app on my phone real time for adjustments. Very handy!
