Took her to the range again today and was ringing steel out to 800 yds with my 190gr load!

Well I figured that I'd give an update! I recently purchased 2 new scopes that I put on my precision rifles and this beast received my vortex viper pst and I can't wait to get her running!

Sounds like you really got her shooting well. I'm dying to do some shooting here. I'm still trying to finish a little load work with the 150 SST in my Mosin and I've been looking around for another action here that's fair priced.

Oh yeah, she shoots like a champ!!! I just passed my pst down to her from my other rifle after I bought 2 new scopes. This pst is replacing a 16x swfa ss.

Are you using a 190 SMK , or something else ? Gathering data for my Mosin "F" .308 build . Looking at the HST , HST-LR , and the PST . What's your thoughts , Farmerboy ? I know you have two of them .

I have both the hst and the pst. The hst has all the quality of the pst, except it is sfp and nonilluminated

well it's been a while, but I have had a change to this rifle. it now wears a crook chassis from the Ukraine. and I also have never chrono-ed my loads for it before. today I got out my magnetospeed and both the 175 and 190gr loads. to my surprise the 175 only went 2550fps and the 190 right @ 2500... I have to say I'm disappointed in that velocity for sure. so I'm scrapping the 4350 load data and worked up another 175gr load today using varget. I'm using norma brass, Remington 9 1/2 magnum primers, varget, and 175gr smk... I started @ 43gr varget and worked up to 51gr without pressure signs on the brass or primers. I ended up with 2 good shooting nodes, 44gr and 50gr. the 50gr load is averaging 2759fps! I can live with that for sure.

Must be a slick barrel. Usually I get the best speeds out of H4350 though I have to sometimes run a compressed load.
Are you using a drop tube?

Been working up a 185 load for next years Berger that shows really good promise . Shot a 194 and 196 out of 200 with it yesterday at Ben Avery Berger Range from 600 yrds . Average MV , from a V-3 chrono on 40 rounds is 2671 , out of a 5r , 26" Kreiger .
51gr of A-4350
Lapua 185gr , D-46
S&B Case
S&B primer
3.380 BTO
This load in this case is about 99% full case , or may even be a light , touch compression when inserting the bullet . I dip the bullet in Dry lube before inserting .

no, I'm not using a drop tube. but varget is definitely doing better for me as far as velocity and accuracy goes.
