Anyone Hunting with their Mosin?

I got mine mostly to hunt with. Took a doe season before last and a coyote. Then last season I took a decent 9 pt. I will post up pictures tomorrow. Doesn't work from my phone.

Yes! I have taken game with the 7.62x54R. It will put deer and black bear down all day providing you can shoot straight. I've used both Winchester Metric 7.62x54R and wolf Gold soft points. The cartridge doesn't struggle, good penetration and expansion on both of those manufactures. I prefer the Winchester though. Some of the guys on here reload their own, and they get great target rounds, I'm sure they could point you in the right direction for hunting reloads.
