Finnish M39 SAKO 1943 First for me.

Just purchased M39 from Classic Arms, so far I am tickled to almost death. Own 8 model 91/30 and 2 model M38, yes I have the addiction. The gun is as close to new as any Mosins I own, well maybe one M38 comes close. Full blueing with barrel that looks unfired. Stock is post war with 3 repair plugs around rear side sling hardware. Matching bolt and barrel S/N, floor plate forced numbered, butt plate none matching.
Will get pictures soon and post. After cleaning cosmoline off, which was not too bad I shot it and it works. It is shooting much high than any other of my Mosins? Surplus ammo at 50 yards it is 18 inches high with a six o'clock hold. Sight is set on 150 yards. Also there is a number 82 stamped on barrel just behind front sight that I cannot find any references to, seem to remember this in the hundred of articles I read before buying it but cannot retrace my steps. Any answer would be appreciated. Also do the SAKO barrels have the tighter bores like the B barrels from Belgium?

OK for those in the future who need my question answered, the 82 was stamped after the armory sighted the gun in and used a 8.2 mm sight. Taller sight shoots lower, lower sight shoots higher, mine is 82 on barrel and 7.1 on sight. Thank you very much.

I'm sorry Ron....glad for your purchase! The Finns are sweet rifles and I'd love to have one. I didn't know the answer to your question either, but glad you are here!
